The act of creating has always enthralled me. My journey into the world of film-making started from the desire to express my personal experience and emotions through the medium of film. Now, using the same medium, along with others, I help brands visualise and translate their stories into beautiful, meaningful content.
To date, I've written and directed 6 narrative films during my 4 years in Nanyang Technological University School of Art, Design & Media. My most notable film, Disconnected (2016) was nominated for the National Youth Film Awards (2017) for Best Screenplay, Directing & Performance, featured on the Singapore Film Channel on Viddsee.com and was listed by Sindie as one of the top 10 films to catch in April 2017.
Delivery Man (2015), a film I shot and co-directed for the 48 Hours Film Competition won the audience choice award. Something Went Wrong (2017), a film I directed in my 3rd year, was selected for the 58th Zlín Film Festival in Czech Republic.
After graduation, I joined Grab’s Public Relations & Communications team as a content producer. During my time there, I led a couple of initiatives, such as Faces of Southeast Asia, a collection of stories from around the region that showcases Grab’s social impact on the region and launched Grab’s Medium page.
Right now, I am working at Government Technology (Singapore) as an Assistant Manager in the Corporate Marketing Group. My scope of work there includes strategising and creating content for GovTech’s owned channels. Of late, I got roped into doing product marketing and comms for an upcoming government mobile application, which I’m really excited about as it is my first foray into product marketing.
